The air quality in Delhi remained in the 'severe' category on Wednesday morning , with residents waking up to a dense blanket of smog and a noticeable dip in temperature. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), several key monitoring stations recorded alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) readings at 7 am - Anand Vihar (438), Bawana (451), Chandni Chowk (449), Dwarka Sector 8 (423), ITO (433), Mundka (443), Narela (437) and Rohini (442).
The city's air quality had already slipped into the 'severe' zone on Tuesday evening for the first time this season, with the overall AQI touching 428, marking the worst pollution levels recorded this year.
