Cherry Hill East junior Shawn Tishey put aside all that had gone before, in a South Jersey Group 2 semifinal, and let instinct guide him to the finish.
“The ball went down the line to Cruz (Candray), the left winger, and I saw he beat his man, so I knew he was going to cross it,” Tishey said. “Instantly I thought back post. I went back post -- I tried hitting it to the back post -- and it just went in.”
Tishey nodded home his sixth goal of the season from about four yards off the right post with 2:30 left in the first overtime to lift the host Cougars to a 2-1 victory over Eastern High School.
