Los Angeles Angels pitcher Kyle Hendricks has retired from MLB after 12 seasons, according to the MLB Players Association.
Hendricks pitched his first 11 seasons with the Chicago Cubs from 2014-24, including winning the 2016 World Series over the Cleveland Guardians . He posted an MLB-best 2.13 ERA that season for Chicago, helping the Cubs end a 108-year championship drought.
Nicknamed “The Professor” for his pitching prowess, Hendricks retires from MLB with a career record of 105-91 and 3.79 ERA in 307 games pitched, including 301 starts.
