MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — In “the game before the game”, the WVU women’s basketball team collected their third lopsided victory in as many contests to open up the season with an 89-61 win over Temple.
West Virginia will face their toughest challenge in the non-conference portion of their schedule Friday against Duke. The Mountaineers showed no signs of looking ahead to the Blue Devils. WVU won each quarter against the Owls and posted their highest point total of the young season. Mark Kellogg’s club connected on 31 of 59 shots from the floor and 10 of 23 from 3-point range, both season-bests.
“For us to finally shoot it and make shots and see the ball go through the hoop offensively, for us that was really good,” Kellogg said. “I didn’t always love us defensively. We’ll continue to get better
