Montreal’s transit workers’ union announced late Tuesday it has suspended its strike to resume negotiations with the STM.

The walkout will end at 6 a.m. Wednesday as talks continue over funding and working conditions for 2,400 maintenance employees.

The strike reduced STM service to rush hours and late nights only and was expected to continue until Nov. 28. There was no immediate word from the STM about how quickly full service would resume.

Bus and métro operators have also planned a strike Nov. 15 and 16 that would shut down service for the entirety of those two days.
