FARGO — The home opener for North Dakota State on Tuesday night served as an introduction of sorts for several new players to Division I men’s basketball prime time in Scheels Center. The Bison also handed the keys to guard Andy Stefonowicz with the following statement: this is your car to drive.

Now a sophomore, he’s no longer the true freshman point guard in learning. He’s the guy and Stefonowicz acted like it in the second half leading the Bison to a 90-68 victory over California State University Northridge.

“Andy, his energy and the way he responded out of half was terrific,” said NDSU head coach Dave Richman. “I just think he’s more comfortable, he’s got a little more experience.”
