Many Alabamians enjoyed a colorful light show in the sky during this cold evening in November.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says a geomagnetic storm is creating the aurora borealis, or the northern lights, in a large portion of the U.S.

Although much of the northern U.S. is where the northern lights were showing the strongest, many areas in Alabama, including Cullman County and Jefferson County, were treated to the light show as well.
