CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Local businesses fear they could be destroyed if a hemp ban included in the Senate bill to reopen the federal government is passed.
The ban comes in the form of a Senate amendment that would outlaw the sale of hemp-derived products containing more than 0.4 milligrams per unit of THC.
Christain Perry, the owner of Kentucky Botanical Co., told FOX 19 on Tuesday that it would eliminate most of her products. She said it would certainly eliminate the products that customers want the most.
“It isn’t even feasible because it’s not creating space for the products that people want,” she said.
She explained that the way the plants used to create these products are grown doesn’t allow for the THC cap the government is looking to put in place.
