A Palm Coast man wanted in Flagler County on charges of sexually abusing a child under the age of 12 has been arrested in Texas, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say 22-year-old Giovanni Curtis was taken into custody in El Paso, Texas, after a monthslong investigation that began with a single report from a parent in Flagler County for a crime committed years ago.

FCSO Chief Deputy Joe Barile said the sheriff’s Major Case Unit worked alongside the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division because Curtis was on active duty when the investigation started.

“She conducted her investigation, which included going to El Paso, Texas, and conducting an interview,” Barile said. “And that’s where she gained a confession.”
