The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has come under sharp criticism after unveiling an all-male jury for the Indian Panorama section of its 56th edition, set to take place in Goa later this month. The absence of women on the jury has triggered widespread backlash online, with many calling the decision “disappointing" and “tone-deaf."
All-Male Jury Announced
IFFI revealed the panel for the Indian Panorama – Feature Films category through an Instagram post earlier this week. Actor and filmmaker Raja Bundela will serve as the chairperson, with jury members including Krishna Hebbale, Kamlesh K Mishra, Malay Ray, Subhash Sehgal, Jadumoni Dutta, Aroon Baksi, Asim Sinha, Ashok Sharan, Sukumar Jatania, BS Basavaraju, Amaresh Chakrabarti, and Napoleon Thanga.
