LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A federal government plan to build a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border continues to get mixed responses from both the community and elected officials, and the conversation will continue at a special City Council meeting Nov. 14.
The special meeting on November 14 is to review and announce the blueprints for the wall. This comes after the Department of Homeland Security sent a notice to Laredo city officials of their plans to build a border wall along the Rio Grande River.
Laredo Mayor Dr. Victor Trevino said the city has been in talks with the federal government since November 4, including a proposal of the appearance of the wall.
