Wendy's announced it is plans to close approximately 300 additional restaurants, one year after closing 140 locations across the United States.

The fast food chain currently has around 6,000 locations nationwide. On Nov. 7, Wendy's interim CEO Ken Cook said in a quarterly earnings call that the company would be closing more locations.

According to a recent report , Wendy's had a 4.7% decrease in revenue generated by stores open for at least a year, and a 2.6% loss in global sales in the third quarter of 2025.

"When we look at the system today, we have some restaurants that do not elevate the brand and are a drag from a franchisee's financial performance perspective," Cook said. "The goal is to address and fix those restaurants."
