GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Professional soccer is now another step closer to finding a home in Green Bay.

On Tuesday night, the city’s Common Council approved a letter of intent to work with the United Soccer League (USL), which is proposing a new 5,000+ seat stadium to host both men’s and women’s soccer.

Negotiations are officially underway for the city of Green Bay and the United Soccer League.

“We’re excited about the possibility of bringing professional soccer on the men’s and women’s level,” Justin Papadakis, Deputy CEO of USL, said.

Green Bay’s Common Council voted in unanimous support as the idea of a stadium-based redevelopment opportunity intrigued city leaders.
