"The Last 600 Meters" is a new documentary that tells the story of the two deadliest battles of the Iraq War. In 2004, U.S. forces fought the Shiite Mahdi militia in the Battle of Najaf against the Battle of Fallujah against Sunni insurgents. The film is available to stream via PBS (above) and on Amazon.
Michael Pack, the director and producer of the film "The Last 600 Meters" and President of Palladium Pictures, says the urban battles in Iraq made this war different.
"It's a very different kind of war. We try to depict it from the point of view of the people who fought there," Pack explained. "It's called the Last 600 Meters, because the Special Forces sniper says, 'I don't make foreign policy. I deliver the last 600 meters of it.'"
