The second-half surge of the Camas girls soccer team this season was fueled by outstanding defense.

But the Papermakers needed a little more offense to stay alive in the postseason.

On Tuesday, the Mount Si Wildcats made that difficult.

Reese Stanley tapped in a free kick in the first half, and the Wildcats from Snoqualmie made that stand up for a 1-0 victory Tuesday in a 4A state first-round match at Doc Harris Stadium.

Camas won the 4A Greater St. Helens League title on the strength of three consecutive shutout wins.

But the Papermakers were shut out themselves in their last two matches of the postseason. The Papermakers lost to Skyview last week in the bi-district playoffs on penalty kicks after a 0-0 draw.
