JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - Starting December 1, parking in downtown Jackson will look a little different.
The City Council voted to approve new fees, fines, and enforcement measures in the city’s Central Commercial District, changes that follow recommendations made earlier this year by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber’s report, “Addressing Parking Revenue in Jackson: A Balanced Approach to Funding,” outlined ways to better fund the city’s parking system. It called for enhanced enforcement and higher fines to ensure compliance and to create a fair system for visitors, residents, and downtown workers.
