NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Barry Ogletree, a Jeep collector in Lufkin sets up six army vehicles in front of his shop. He says it’s taken him 25 years to collect WWII vehicles and parts.
It takes three to four months to fully restore them. All vehicles are drivable too.
“We need to honor our vets and remember them. The veterans come and are just so proud someone is trying to save a little bit of their heritage,” said Ogletree.
The Nacogdoches Rotary Club set up over 200 American flags at Festival Park. An annual tradition for nearly 20 years honors veterans and active members. They said each dozen represents military branches and rankings. The flags will be up Nov. 15.
“It’s about unity. We’re all Americans and that’s what the flags are here, to celebrate that unity,” said Nacogdoches
