LAWRENCE — Darryn Peterson’s availability through the early days of Kansas basketball’s season has been a regular topic of conversation, and Tuesday’s home game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi proved to be no different.
Although the No. 24 Jayhawks (2-1) largely coasted to a 77-46 win against the Islanders (1-3), they did so without Peterson available. Peterson was with the team inside Allen Fieldhouse, but the freshmen guard and KU star didn’t play in the game. It was teammates like freshman guard Kohl Rosario, freshman forward Bryson Tiller who helped deliver the plays necessary to dispatch Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
