COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Veterans in Focus has unveiled plans for a park and convention center in Cocke County after three years of work.
Rob Watkins, president of Veterans in Focus, said the facility would host conferences, quilt shows, dog shows and gun shows to generate revenue.
It would welcome all people as a way to remember veterans, including those who serve overseas and those who help in everyday roles.
“This can be first responders or fire department, so we’re looking at this park that’s going to honor all those that serve in the community and serve in this nation,” Watkins said.
Watkins said the project would require millions of dollars in investment, totaling $20 million once completed.
Army veteran Paul Gregg said Cocke County is a great place to build this facility.
