History was made Tuesday night in Holmdel.
For the first time in school history, top-seeded Holmdel, No. 18 in the NJ.com Top 20, won its first NJSIAA / Wilson Central Jersey, Group 2 sectional championship on its home court in Holmdel.
The Hornets defeated second-seeded Gov. Livingston in a thrilling five set match that came down to the wire (19-25, 25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 16-14).
For a girls volleyball program that was established in 2010, Holmdel has had its best season by far this year.
