Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth King of Bhutan, in Thimphu and conveyed warm felicitations on the occasion of the monarch’s 70th birth anniversary.
Modi extended best wishes and prayers on behalf of the Government and people of India for the continued good health and well-being of the Fourth King, officials said.
He also thanked His Majesty for his leadership, counsel, and guidance in strengthening the unique and time-tested friendship between India and Bhutan.
According to PMO officials, both leaders discussed bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest, underscoring the shared spiritual and cultural bonds that bring the people of the two Himalayan neighbours even closer.
