INDIANAPOLIS — It's a yearly Nov. 11 tradition as many people get the day off work, but for millions of people across the country, it's more than a holiday.

"It's a reflection of time," Air Force veteran Jose Alejos said. "This country is peace. That's what the veteran represents."

That peace was earned by veterans who gave it all. Some were lucky to give their all and still come home. Others never did.

"There are people who have fought for those freedoms and liberties that we have," Army veteran Lance Manning said. "They don't come free."

On Tuesday, their sacrifice was repaid from breakfast ceremonies to wreath presentations. The "thank you" came from even the youngest patriots.
