NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A fire that destroyed a hotel in Macon County on Tuesday morning is under investigation.

Fire crews were called to the fire around 7 a.m. following reports of visible smoke and flames coming from the structure.
When crews arrived, firefighters reported “heavy fire conditions” throughout the building.
Despite crews extensive work on putting out the fire, officials said the hotel was deemed a total loss.
