SALISBURY — Dogs aren’t cheap, but luckily the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has had a little assistance in acquiring, training and equipping Magnolia, or Maggie, its first bloodhound in over two decades.
On Friday, that assistance continued, as the sheriff’s office showcased its newly upfitted Dodge Durango to members of the Salisbury Kennel Club (SKC), who donated most of the funding.
Maggie was purchased from a trainer in 2023 with a $7,500 grant from the American Kennel Club matched by a $10,000 donation by the SKC, which also paid for handler training, said SKC Secretary Samatha
