Detroit — Steve Forbes is a basketball coach. He has been for the better part of four decades now, including the last half-dozen at Wake Forest, where he was voted the ACC Coach of the Year a few years ago.

But if you ask him how to prepare a team to face a 7-foot-3 center like Michigan’s Aday Mara — especially when your own center is just 6-foot-7 — you might as well cue the laugh track. Because he’s got jokes.
