Livingston senior volleyball standout Camilla Dong turned 17 years old on Tuesday, the same day as her Lancers sectional final.

What transpired for her, and her teammates, is far sweeter than any birthday cake has to offer.

Dropping its first two sets, then launching an improbable comeback, top-seeded Livingston - No. 9 in the NJ.com Top 20 - notched a 3-2 victory over third-seeded and No. 17 Passaic Tech in Livingston. The set lines were 21-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-15, and 15-7 in this one.

Now a terrific 22-5 on the season, the Lancers will host Westfield in the Group 4 semifinals on Thursday. Passaic Tech, champions of Passaic County, finished an outstanding campaign at 25-4.
