GARDEN CITY, Idaho — A Garden City restaurant owner says he was illegally locked out of his business at the Boardwalk Apartments, leaving more than $100,000 worth of kitchen equipment trapped inside.
Frank Jordan, chef and owner of Bao Boi, said he and his staff arrived at work Oct. 21 to find the locks changed and his access denied. His attorney has sent a letter to the landlord demanding the return of his property and threatening legal action.
"I wasn't evicted – I was illegally forced out," Jordan said.
The dispute marks a dramatic turn for what Jordan thought would be his restaurant's next chapter. Bao Boi specializes in Japanese curry and steamed buns and operated out of one of six retail spaces at the Boardwalk Apartments on East 41st Street. The apartment complex sits along the
