LA VERNE – The Bonita High School boys water polo team will have a chance to add to its legacy after defeating visiting Glendora, 15-11, in Tuesday’s CIF Southern Section Division 3 semifinal game at Las Flores Park in La Verne.
The Bearcats, who have been in four championship games since 2000 and have won seven titles in school history, will get to play for another trophy.
Bonita (25-12) will play for its eighth title on Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College against Temecula Valley (22-10), an 9-8 semifinal winner over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. The time of Saturday’s match will be set on Wednesday.
Glendora, which finished 24-7, went further than any other previous team in program history. This was the first season it had advanced past the second round.
