ONTARIO — Ontario Christian girls volleyball coach Paige Liebhart was a little worried about her team’s CIF State playoff opener.

Not only was her team playing again three days after winning a Southern Section title, but Ontario Christian was playing a team that had 10 days of rest since they were eliminated from the CIF-SS playoffs by the Knights.

As it turned out, Liebhart did not need to worry.

Ontario Christian got off to a quick start, then withstood a push by Santa Barbara in a 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 sweep Tuesday night in a Division III first-round contest.

The No. 6-seeded Knights (15-8) advance to play at No. 3 Mission Vista in Oceanside in the regional quarterfinals Thursday.
