At Manchester’s Christmas markets you can sample cuisine from across the globe , but real foodie fans may want to head abroad for something more authentic.
With that in mind, Budapest has been named Europe’s most authentic food destination, according to a new study by Saga Holidays. The city is home to the Advent Basilica Christmas Fair which starts on November 14 and runs all the way until January 1, 2026.
Located in St Istvan Square, it is home to more than 100 stalls and an ice skating rink. It’s also a short walk from Vörösmarty Square, where you’ll find the city’s oldest and most famous Christmas market, so there’s no shortage of places
