Residents of Odisha woke up to biting cold on Wednesday as a cold wave gripped several districts.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that night temperatures will drop by 2–3°C over the next 24 hours.

Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, and Sundargarh emerged as the worst-affected districts. Phulbani, Sundargarh, Rourkela, and Jharsuguda are likely to record lows of 10°C. Keonjhar and Angul may see 12°C, while Dhenkanal, Koraput, and Bhadrak could hover around 13°C.

On Thursday night, Phulbani is expected to remain at 10°C. Jharsuguda, Angul, and Rourkela may dip further to 11°C. The IMD cautioned that the cold wave will persist without significant change in the coming days.
