SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -It was a battle of #1 vs. #4 in Women’s NAIA Basketball Tuesday night at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
And it did not disappoint. The top-ranked Dordt Defenders of Bill Harmsen came away with a hard fought 86-82 win over Dave Moe’s Dakota State Trojans.
Macy Sievers poured in free throws down the stretch and scored 23 points, had 11 assists and 8 rebounds to lead the way. Gracie Schoonhoven also had 23 points and 9 rebounds and Olivia Harazan had 20 points for the 4-0 Defenders.
For 3-1 DSU, Ella Carstensen had a big game with 22 points and 12 rebounds and former SF Jefferson standout Cierra Watkins had 15 points.
