Ganderbal, Nov 12: In a major, well-coordinated operation, J&K Police carried out extensive Search operations at multiple locations across District Ganderbal, targeting individuals and premises associated with the proscribed organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that a district-wide counter–terror and anti-separatist operation was conducted simultaneously in several areas with the assistance of other security agencies. The action followed credible intelligence inputs indicating attempts by JeI-linked elements to revive organizational activities through covert channels and front groups.
