The historic Cuttack Bali Yatra will now continue for one more day, announced Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday. Originally scheduled to conclude on November 12, the historic riverfront festival will now end on November 13.
According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the decision was taken after reviewing the overwhelming public turnout and the brisk business activities of traders at the venue.
“Considering the immense interest of visitors and the enthusiastic participation of traders, the duration of Bali Yatra has been extended by one more day,” the statement read.
The move aims to give more time for visitors to experience the fair, which commemorates Odisha’s ancient maritime trade links with Southeast Asia. Bali Yatra in Cuttack draws lakhs of people
