Chairing a technical session on “Youth in Cooperatives: Future Leadership & Innovation” during the CoopKumbh 2025 on Tuesday, Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Rabindra Agarwal underlined the urgent need to involve more young people in the cooperative movement to ensure its long-term vitality and innovation.
Agarwal observed that while India enjoys a vast demographic dividend, it remains underutilized in the cooperative sector. “We are not encouraging youth participation in cooperatives as much as we can. The energy, ideas, and technological understanding of young people can greatly strengthen the cooperative ecosystem,” he noted.
