WHITE OAK TWP. — A Battle Creek man was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge after police said they saw him assault a woman in the back seat of a patrol car over the weekend.
The incident happened early on Sunday, Nov. 9, after Ingham County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a single-vehicle, rollover crash in the area of Proctor and Carter roads southeast of Dansville, sheriff's officials said in a news release.
Three people who were riding in the vehicle when it crashed were allowed to sit in the back seat of the patrol car.
A sergeant saw the 31-year-old suspect assault a woman, officials said. The man was arrested, and the sergeant discovered that the patrol car's video system had captured an earlier assault that happened while the sergeant was out of the vehicle,
