AKRON, Ohio — A man who crashed into an apartment building and then led police on a wild chase , injuring two officers, was sentenced Tuesday to nearly five years in prison.

Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said in a news release that in addition to 59 months in prison, Mikal Gamble, 32, of Warrensville Heights, also had his license suspended for six years and was ordered to pay $17,647.10 in restitution for damages to Akron patrol cars.

On May 5, a Macedonia officer saw Gamble’s vehicle traveling 129 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 271, prosecutors say. The officer began chasing the vehicle but eventually called it off because of Gamble’s erratic driving.

Moments later, Cuyahoga Falls police pursued Gamble’s vehicle but also called off the chase as it swerved dangerously
