Question: I would like to grow several indoor plants this winter. Could you make some suggestions about choosing plants that are relatively easy to grow? I travel quite a bit in my work, but am seldom gone for more than a week.

Answer: Unless plants are in a bright sunny window, almost all indoor plants will go a week or more between waterings. Even cactus and succulents, which need bright light, also need infrequent watering. You should probably avoid hobby plants like African violets, which need more frequent attention.
