MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Tennessee's mentoring program tnAchieves said Tuesday that it still needs 600 volunteer mentors across the state to "meet student demand."

The deadline to meet that demand is Friday, Nov. 14.

Several counties in the Mid-South still need volunteer mentors. As of Monday, Shelby and Tipton counties need 66 and 14 mentors, respectively, according to the tnAchieves website.

tnAchieves' core mission is to help students in Tennessee get into college through guidance and encouragement as well exposing them to their community and the job opportunities in it.

tnAchieves currently serves 60,000 high school seniors in Tennessee.
