Dhenkanal – A 12-hour Dhenkanal Bandh has been called on Monday, November 17, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., protesting against the installation of smart electricity meters by TPCODL.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday at the Dhenkanal Bar Association Hall under the banner of the Electricity Consumers’ Action Committee. Representatives of various political and social organisations attended the meeting and extended their support to the protest.

Addressing the gathering, Bar Association President Gopal Patra announced the bandh decision and appealed to the people of Dhenkanal to support it. He alleged that the smart meters are being installed without public consent and have caused widespread dissatisfaction among consumers.
