New Delhi: Indian Railways has introduced a new rule regarding child tickets ahead of the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday season. This new policy aims to make travel easier and more affordable for families traveling with children during the winter vacation.
As schools remain closed, trains are expected to see family travelers heading to popular tourist destinations across the country. Keeping this in mind, the Indian Railways has clarified the updated child ticket rules for passengers.
Under the new guidelines, children below five years of age can travel for free, as long as they do not require a separate berth or seat. Parents do not need to purchase a ticket for children under five unless a separate berth or seat is requested, in that case the full adult fare will apply. Chi
