Sara Cox is the latest BBC Radio 2 presenter to announce she will be taking part in a strenuous challenge to raise cash for Children in Need. The Great Northern Marathon Challenge, which kicked off on Monday November 10 will see the 50-year-old cover 135 miles on foot across four counties - Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire - which equates to five marathons across five days. ‌

Sara will be running, jogging, and walking through moorland, steep ridges, and the rolling hills of northern England, with the support of towns, villages, and Radio 2 listeners, cheering her on along the way. Among her most devoted supporters are her beloved husband and three children. ‌

Sara, who also regularly hosts BBC One's Morning Live, is from Bolton
