Fired Tennessee State University band director Reginald "Reggie" McDonald filed nearly $13,000 in expenses for what appears to be a Florida bail bond company hired to provide security on band trips in 2022 and 2023, records obtained by The Tennessean show. McDonald also filed an additional $8,824 expense for a security services company with an identical address.

McDonald, who led the band for a decade and worked for TSU for 24 years, was removed as director in January. He retired from his tenured faculty position in late August, records show.
