SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Aaron Nesmith's theory for how the Pacers managed to give up more points in a game Tuesday than any other team in the 2025-26 season is that they got too subconsciously comfortable with the feeling that the cavalry had finally arrived.
The Pacers felt as close to whole as they have since the season opener after spending most of the season's first three weeks with so many injuries as to be barely functional. They were coming off a 114-83 loss to Golden State on Sunday in which they were missing nine players and scored the second fewest points of any NBA team in the young 2025-26 season. Against the Jazz, however, they brought back desperately needed firepower.
