A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), apex investigating authority at the federal level, arrived here on November 10 and have been raiding multiple locations , apparently to ascertain the state of illegal infiltration of shady Bangladeshi nationals, Rohingiyas and criminals from across the border. The NIA team which generally avoid contact with media persons could not be reached for information about the nature of raids and the specific assignment on which they had come here. The state police sources also kept mum on the issue .

Sources however said that shortly after arriving here the NIA team got in touch with the state police authority and have already raided two places in Kumarghat and another place in the sensitive border town of Kailasahar, headquarter of Unakoti distri
