Northern lights lovers didn’t have to go far to see them ripple across the sky Tuesday evening. A show that included vivid red auroras visible to the eye, not just the camera — a relatively rare sight — filled the sky through the evening.

The aurora was spotted across Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, Grand Rapids, Rochester and points even farther south.

The show continued into the early morning hours on Wednesday, still visible to the eye in the skies above the Twin Cities.
