Police have launched a rape investigation after a 'serious sexual assault' took place during the early hours in Glasgow city centre.

Emergency services were called to Sauchiehall Lane at around 3.10am on Wednesday (November 12) and the area was cordoned off by police .

No arrests have been made as of yet.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.10am on Wednesday, 12 November, we received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Sauchiehall Lane area of Glasgow .

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
