New Delhi, Nov 12: The Ministry of Railways has approved the 25.72 km Ferozepur–Patti Rail Link Project, with an estimated cost of ₹764.19 crore, including ₹166 crore for land acquisition.

Union Minister S. Ravneet Singh Bittu highlighted the project’s strategic and economic importance, reducing travel distance between Ferozepur and Amritsar from 196 km to 100 km and streamlining the Jammu–Ferozepur–Fazilka–Mumbai corridor.

The rail link will enhance mobility, serve 2,500–3,500 daily passengers, create approximately 2.5 lakh jobs, and revitalize trade and agriculture. It will also restore a historic route lost during Partition, significantly benefiting nearly 10 lakh people in Punjab.
