The Arrigoni Bridge has reopened early Wednesday morning after being closed in both directions in Portland late Tuesday night after a deadly motorcycle crash.

The police department said the crash happened on the Portland side of the bridge. The CT Department of Transportation said it's closed between Marlborough Street and St. John's Square.

Authorities said the bridge will be closed for an extended period of time while police conduct an investigation.

A car and motorcycle collided shortly before 9 p.m. The identity of the person who died is unknown.

Drivers are being asked to drive carefully and be patient with authorities.
