Star South Africa batter Faf du Plessis has said that although Ravichandran Ashwin was an incredible bowler for India, be it with the new ball or the old ball, India’s bench strength will definitely ensure that his absence is not felt when they take on South Africa in the two-Test series.
Ashwin announced his international retirement in December, during India’s tour of Australia, which was a disappointing outing altogether.
This will be the first instance where India will play a home Test series in Ashwin’s absence in over 14 years.
